ABOUT THE WINTER FESTIVAL OF SPEED
The Winter Festival of Speed has been running in Lac La Biche for 40 years.
The event started with cars racing on the ice. Next came sleds with snow drags which led to ice drags with crazy high HP sleds. About this time we started the kids carnival, then came motorcycles and quads on an ice track. Last came the aircraft landing on the ice runway. The trappers put up a display and a axe throwing activity where people could try their luck. This year, there will be an ice and snow sculpting display. The vintage sleds are having a trail ride, vintage sled display and novice snowmobile rider training. Ice slolam event for cars and half ton pickups.
